Phi Theta Kappa Club
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is an organization that recognizes the achievements of and rewards scholars at California Junior Colleges for their achievements. PTK opens doors to so many resources for the high achieving college student.
Lenika Howard, Phi Theta Kappa Student Member and Chapter Officer
The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is two-fold:
- Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and;
- Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
All College of Alameda students are welcome to attend Phi Theta Kappa meetings and events, but to receive full member benefits a student must:
- Identify College of Alameda as their primary/home college
- Earn at least a 3.5 term GPA
- Complete at least 12 units at College of Alameda
- Receive a formal invitation to join from Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters (email and standard mail).
- Pay a one-time membership fee of $70
All College of Alameda students are welcome to attend Phi Theta Kappa meetings and events, but to receive full member benefits a student must:
