Founded in 1970, the College of Alameda has a diverse student population of over 11,000 students enrolled annually.

The academic classes averages 35 students; depending on subject, some class sizes are smaller. Has updated classrooms with the latest smart technologies. Noted for excellence of our academic, vocational, and student-support programs. A range of unique classes awaits you at the College of Alameda, including Aviation Maintenance Technology, Apparel Design, Automotive Technology, and various ESL programs

Students transfer to four-year colleges and universities, earn associate degrees and certificates in academic and occupational fields. The College of Alameda is nationally recognized for the innovative ways that it meets the educational needs of a complex, diverse, and dynamic community.

Co-curricular activities are an important part of the educational experience; offering an active student government, student clubs and organizations, and inter-collegiate athletics.

College of Alameda offers students the opportunity to participate in two intercollegiate athletics teams – Men’s Intercollegiate Basketball and Women’s Intercollegiate Volleyball. Both teams compete in the Bay Valley Conference of the California Community Colleges Athletic Association (CCCAA).
