Our Outreach & Retention Staff Members welcome new and potential students to campus, provide printed information, enrollment support, and can often be found on-site at local high schools and community-based organizations throughout Oakland and Alameda.
Meet our team of Peer Outreach Advisers! We are students from diverse backgrounds who use our experience to help you apply, enroll, and persist.

Information
In light of the “shelter in place” directive issued by Alameda County, all classes at PCCD have been moved online. Services for students are available but are offered online.
Due to the current closure of College of Alameda and many of our partner schools/ organizations, we will be putting Mobile CoA on pause until further notice.
Important reminders regarding registration and enrollment:
1) Students should make sure to complete a College of Alameda application or ensure that their accounts are up to date. www.private.alameda.edu/apply.
a. For non-OUSD students only– dual/concurrent enrollment students, applications need to be up to date. (OUSD dual/ concurrent enrollment student accounts have been updated). Please follow this guide for Account Reset or Recovery.
b. Students with holds on their accounts or a duplicate accounts for any reason – Contact Marcean Bryant at mbryant@peralta.edu with the email subject: Mobile COA Student. Include full name, PCCD ID number OR month/ day of birth.
c. If this is the first time that the student will be completing an application, remember that there are two steps to doing so.
- First, the student must create an OpenCCC account
- Second, the student will need to complete the college of Alameda application.
- This worksheet will allow students to track their passwords, recovery questions, and Student ID all in one place.
- Students who may need assistance with selecting a Financial Aid eligible major can use this list as a guide.

2) The online ORIENTATION is NO LONGER a requirement for enrollment
3) Placement (Assessment) – Non-ESOL students will be placed in Math and English courses during their counseling session.
4) COUNSELING – Students who have completed a Peralta application and have obtained a student ID can now set-up an online counseling appointment here. A PCCD ID is required in order to schedule a counseling appointment.
Once students are ready to access their student Passport they can use this helpful guide to navigate the platform.

How to fill out HS special enrollment form updated
Once the High School Special Enrollment Form is complete the student should e-mail it to the Admissions and Records Department at COAadmissions@peralta.edu.

Support Guides for Students
Links to our support programs and services:
EOPS/Care/Calworks – Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS) is a program designed to provide academic support and above-and-beyond services to help students reach their academic goal. Students enrolled in the EOPS program demonstrate that they have educational, economic, social, cultural, or language problems that interfere with their educational careers.
NextUp – The NextUp Program, formerly CAYFES, is designed to promote the success of current and former foster youth enrolled at the College of Alameda. The NextUp Program assists qualified students in balancing their educational needs with financial assistance and additional support services.
Programs and Services for Students with Disabilities (DSPS) – DSPS provides services designed to meet the unique educational needs of enrolled CoA students with documented disabilities. Our professional staff works with each student to provide accommodations that ensure equal access to all academic programs, and to promote students’ independence so they may realize their academic potential and reach their goals.
UMOJA – The UMOJA Community at the College of Alameda is more than a program, it is an opportunity. We aim to help increase retention, graduation and transfer rates among African/African American and other scholars. College is more than assignments and grades. We aim to help make higher education a personal experience.
Adelante con Comunidad, Excelencia, Sabiduria y Oportunidad (ACCESSO) – The Adelante con Comunidad, Excelencia, Sabiduría y Oportunidad , or ACCESO Program serves and supports Latinx students to plan for and attain a certificate, degree, or transfer within three years. While our mission is to expand opportunities and improve the educational attainment of Latinx students, the ACCESO Program is open to all students at College of Alameda.
Puente – The Puente Project is a national award-winning program that has improved the college-going rate of tens of thousands of California’s educationally underrepresented students since 1981
Veteran’s Resource Center (VRC) – College of Alameda Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is committed to providing quality education to veterans, active duty members, reservists, and their family members (dependents). While providing educational courses to reach your goal, we also offer resources and referral information to succeed in a college setting.
Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) – MESA is a peer and professional support community whose aim is to increase access and opportunities of success in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)-related fields for first-generation, low-income, and under-represented college students. MESA provides resources for students to develop essential academic and leadership skills to achieve success in school, career, life, and STEM-related disciplines.
Admissions & Records – Our Admissions & Records department is here to provide you one on one service with Residency issues, enrollment problems, adding or dropping classes, student verification, assist you with ordering official or unofficial Transcripts, and helping you submit your document for your certificate or Degree.
Financial Aid – Financial aid is made available to assist students when family resources are not sufficient to meet college costs. Financial aid is offered to enhance and increase student success in obtaining an education and meeting your educational goals. Financial aid funds come from Federal and State Government. You have to apply! It’s not just given to you!
Career Technical Education (CTE) – College of Alameda’s robust, innovative career technical education (CTE) programs prepare students to be competitive candidates for today’s workforce. The Associate Degree and Certificate programs offered include: Apparel Design and Merchandising, ATLAS, Auto Body and Paint, Automotive Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Business/Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Dental Assisting, Private: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Diesel Mechanics.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the College of Alameda campus is currently closed. Campus tours are not currently available.
Campus Tours are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Requests that are made with less than two weeks’ notice cannot be accommodated.
Campus tour groups are limited to 35 visitors at a time. If at any point your group number exceeds this many people, we reserve the right to cancel. Please let us know as soon as possible if there is a change to the number of visitors in your group. We refuse the right to cancel up to and including arrival.

The Apparel Design and Merchandising (ADAM) Program offers fundamental and advanced training in fashion design and production.
Special tours for students interested in the program will take place on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tours will be limited to 20 people per tour. Requests that are made with less than two weeks’ notice cannot be accommodated.

Outreach services are available upon request (and considering staff availability) between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with direct student assistance available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
